Charolais

Through out the years of feeding cattle and marketing bulls into the commercial sector, the Charolais breed has always played a huge role in our business. With that in mind the idea to expand into another breed was quite simple. Charolais cattle added to our program what we lacked. It was a complimentary breed that worked well with Red Angus. It was a terminal breed that had big performance that really crossed well with our style of cattle but also our customer base.

In the fall of 2006, we purchased the first female. The high selling yearling heifer from the famous EXL dispersal was added. She is the backbone of our Charolais program. In the fall of 2007, another large group of females was added from the KayMac dispersal.

The Charolais herd is and will be run under the same philosophies and criteria that our Red Angus herd was built on. Good feet, legs and udders are a must while the females must be moderate sized, deep, easy keeping and certainly hard working.

We feel that the foundation has been laid to build a more efficient and easier doing Charolais bull and female. These are things that will help set our program apart from the rest of the industry.
